Sight-Reading
*NEW*
Use Sight Reading Factory to complete your weekly sight singing! I didn't realize until yesterday that the site lets you record yourself singing and sends me the audio plus the example you were using- this will be easier than flipgrid for sight singing!
Complete one example per week at an appropriate level for you. All instructions are on the SRF assignment "Weekly Sight Singing."
Join my class HERE
REMEMBER: Click the tuning fork to hear Do, then sing a scale (Do re mi fa ...) to warm up. That way you practice singing the notes before you sight sing.
1) Warm up
2) Find tricky rhythms and practice them
3) Find jumps/skips and practice them
4) Go for it!
For more sight-singing practice on your own, try the document below.

Sheet Music
Click here if you need a copy of chorus music
Click here if you need a copy of solo music
Using paper copies is always best- you can read & write in it while using practice tracks on your chromebook!
Practice Logs & Practice Tracks
Use your voice book to help you warm up. Write down how you practiced in your practice log (in the packet) including warm ups, songs, and how you practiced. An example Practice Log is at the bottom of this section.
Record yourself singing once each practice session on Flipgrid here. When prompted, sign in with your school Gmail.
To hear your part alone on Noteflight, click the treble or bass clef at the beginning of your part, then press play.
Example Practice Log:
Date: 3/15 Time practiced: 3:00 to 3:20pm
Practice Goal: I want to improve my breath support.
Warm-ups: Stretches, breathing, zee-aw, ni-ne-na-no-nu
Song: Danny Boy Measures 1-32
What did you do to practice?
First I wrote in my breath marks. Then I practiced my hisses (in for 4 out for X) then tried to sing the whole phrase without breathing in between.
Song: Il est bel Measures 1-22
What did you do to practice?
First I wrote in my breath marks. Then I tried not breathing until I needed to. After that the regular breaths were easier.
Rank how well you reached your practice goal. 1 2 3 4 5 (best)
